DISPLACEMENT-TIME GRAPH
The gradient of the straight line in the displacement-time graph is the
average velocity.
OA: the gradient
is constant indicates that the velocity is uniform
AB: the gradient
is zero indicates that the velocity is zero
BC: negative gradient indicates
that the velocity is negative which means that the direction of motion has
reversed
VELOCITY-TIME GRAPH
The gradient of the straight line in the velocity-time graph represents
the acceleration.
OA: the gradient
is constant indicates that the acceleration is uniform
AB: for zero gradient, the
acceleration is zero (moving with uniform velocity)
BC: the gradient is negative
indicates that the acceleration is negative (decelerating)
Area under the velocity-time graph represents displacement.
